210 Kashmiri martyrs in 2021, report of Indian barbarism released
In the ongoing operations of state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops martyred 210 innocent Kashmiris, including five women and five minor boys, during the year 2021.A report released today by the research section of Kashmir Media Service said that 65 of them were martyred in fake encounters and in custody.Syed Ali Gilani, a beloved leader of the Kashmir resistance movement, also died in custody.Authorities opposed the protest with all available police forces, special services and the army. "Muhammad Ashraf Sahrai, chairman of Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, also died in Indian police custody.The report said that 16 women were widowed and 44 children were orphaned as a result of these martyrdoms at the hands of the soldiers, while last year 13 women were abused or disrespected by uniformed Indian officials.The report said that Indian forces destroyed 67 residential houses and other buildings.
The report said that 487 people were injured in the brutal use of force against the protesters, while during raids and crackdown operations on homes by Indian troops and police personnel, including Hurriyat activists, human rights defender Khurram Pervez, students and young boys. 2,716 people were arrested.Many of them were detained under the Black Laws Public Safety Act (PSA) and the Prevention of Illegal Activities Act UAPA.Apart from not allowing Muharram processions and Eid Milad-un-Nabi gatherings in the occupied territories, Indian authorities have not allowed people to offer Friday prayers at the historic Jama Masjid in Srinagar for 45 weeks.The report said that resistance leaders Musarat Alam Butt, Chairman All Party Hurriyat Conference, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Naeem Ahmed Khan were detained in Tihar Jail.Apart from them, Asiya Andrabi, Fehmida Sufi, Nahida Nasreen, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam and Farooq Ahmad Dar are also lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail in bogus cases.
The report said that Amir Hamza, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Mohammad Yousuf Falahi, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Dr. Mohammad Qasim Fakto, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Dr. Shafi Shariati, Mujahid Sahrai, Rashid Sahrai, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, Shaukat Hakeem, Asadullah Pare, Merajuddin Nanda and Hayat Ahmed Butt are lodged in different jails.Hurriyat leaders including Feroz Ahmed Dar, Mohammad Aslam Wani, Shahid Yousuf, Shakeel Yousuf, Feroz Ahmed, Ghulam Mohammad Butt, Khurshid Ahmed Butt, Junaid Ahmed Lone, Trader, Zahoor Watali, Journalist Asif Sultan and PhD student Altaf Ahmed Khan. More than 4,000 Kashmiri people, including workers and youth, are lodged in various jails in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and India under black law, public safety and UAPA.The report said that in the month of December 2021 alone, 31 Kashmiris were martyred by Indian troops, leaving one woman, a widow and two children orphaned.
At least six people were injured in the brutal use of force by soldiers and police against peaceful protesters, while 94 civilians, including youths, were arrested in a month.The report added that Indian forces destroyed 11 residential houses during the period.The report pointed out that 515 Kashmiris have been martyred by Indian forces since the removal of special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019 by Narendra Modi's Fascist Indian government.The KMS report further said that 95,948 Kashmiris have been martyred in the last 33 years in the occupied territories.
